The Pub
The oldest image found of the Royal Hotel in 1888. A single story timber building. First Owner / Publican Duncan McColl 1880-1884. 2nd Owner / Publican G.P.Hides 1885-1890, during this photo. Also the same people that built Hides Hotel Cairns.

The Public Bar
The public bar has experience a recent revamp. The original bar, coolroom and ceiling were removed and improved. New bar draft system with bar counter made form the local timbers ex Railway Train Girders. The timber is Back Penda, known as the hardest timber avaiable when bridges were being made locally.
